INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
SUSTAINABILITY – THE FUTURE OF BUSINESS

Dear Colleagues,

we are pleased to invite you to the International Conference „Sustainability – the Future of  Business” which will be organised as a hybrid event on 1-2 June 2022 at the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland.
The conference – a multiplier event at the final stage of the Project Economics of Sustainability (https://econosteam.eu/) funded by the EU Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships Programme,  will bring together representatives of the academia- scientists, teachers and students, civil society, business, and decision-makers to discuss a myriad of aspects of sustainability and explore opportunities of shaping economic development and social well-being on its premises.
The conference is free of charge and there will be two options of joining in: at the CNTI building, the University of Economics in Katowice, or online (details and links will be provided later). Accomodation – self-catered, not included. The list of suggested hotels will be available in March.

Guillaume Lafortune
Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Vice President and Head of Paris Office, SDG Index manager at the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, SDG Academy (education platform of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), a global initiative for the United Nations, an economist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), working with public governance reform and statistics, one of the lead advisors for the OECD’s Government at a Glance report in 2015 and 2017, involved in analytical work related to public sector efficiency, open government data and citizens’ satisfaction with public services, with experience as an economist at the Ministry of Economic Development in the Government of Quebec (Canada).

Manuel Merchán
Professor at EAE Business School in Madrid, Spain, President of the Association Chelonia, General Coordinator of the Chelonia Foundation, researcher of the Mares Circulares, a program co-financed by the Coca-Cola Foundation (with a mission to seek solutions to the problem of marine litter by promoting scientific research and support for new economic models based on the circular economy, to promote a culture of recycling through awareness and training among citizens and to clean up waste from beaches, seas and aquatic environments in Spain and Portugal), with experience in works for foundations around the world, eg as a Coordinator of the Orinoco Crocodile Conservation Project in the Eastern Floodable Savannahs of Colombia.
