University of Maribor

University of Maribor (UM) is the second largest university in Slovenia with more than 14,000 students. With its nineteen member institutions (seventeen among them are faculties from different technical and social sciences fields, students’ library and students’ dormitories), UM is a central development institution, providing research and teaching environment, where intellectual curiosity, innovativeness and excellence are at home at all levels. In its basic activities, studies and research work, the UM wishes to contribute to the provision of human resources for stimulating sustainable development of the Community. Among the main goals of the UM are development and participation in joint study programmes with partner institutions under European Area of Higher Education (EAHE), to increase the level of internationalization and to develop innovative content and services for lifelong learning based on ICT. UM encourages the improvement of the quality and increasing volume of students, teachers and other staff mobility in all form of education and training.

The mission of the UM is based on honesty, curiosity, creativity, freedom of spirit, cooperation and knowledge transfer in the field of science, art and education. Concerned with mankind and sustainable development, the UM expands knowledge, raises awareness, and promotes the culture of dialogue, quality of life and global justice.

In 2018 UM was ranked among the best global universities and earned the highest score among Slovene universities on Times Higher Education World University Rankings examining how universities fulfil their primary mission in different areas. In 2014, UM also received an award for the well-being of foreign students at HE institutions. The UM maintains strong ties with its local environment and the industry. For this reason, various activities aimed at integrating knowledge and R&D with the industry are being implemented in order to initiate concrete projects contributing to new jobs and new products with high added value.

Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor (FEB/UM) offers economics and business study programs at BA, MA and doctoral level. On average, more than 1,700 students were enrolled to FEB’s study programmes in the last years. The FEB performs its activities with altogether 70 pedagogical and 30 administrative staff. It comprises 14 departments (chairs) and 14 research institutes. The Faculty has accredited its study programmes with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), and the European Council for Business Education (ECBE). FEB’s staff are active members in all areas of sustainability, according to the mission of the UM and its own strategic orientation.

University of Florence.

The DISEI was established in January 2013 by the merger of the Departments of Business Sciences, Economics, Economic Law and Mathematics for decisions inside the Faculty of Economics of the University of Florence.

The DISEI professors and researchers are currently 105, including 33 ordinary professors, 46 associate professors and 26 researchers. 93 employees are permanent and 86 of these carry out their full-time university activities. The DISEI also has 23 temporary research fellows and 4 junior research fellows, being the third Department of the University of Florence. The technical-administrative staff consists of 14 units, 3 of theme part-time and 1 in internship.

The educational offer of DISEI is divided into three different cycles:
I °: Three-year degrees (Bachelor’s Degree);
II °: Master’s Degrees and 1st level Master’s Degree (post lauream);
III °: PhD, Postgraduate Schools, 2nd Level Masters and Advanced and Professional Training Courses.

The activities developed by the Research Unit as a whole and by the individual components are aimed at developing interdisciplinary collaborations on research topics related to the cooperative enterprise and non-profit organizations, risk analysis profile for companies in particular to study the possibility for retained, cover and7or transfer risk, insurance and risk management for specific fields, with the aim of spreading knowledge of the phenomenon and helping the development of the sector.

It is also worth mentioning the presence, within the DISEI, of active research groups, among others, in the following areas:

    • Analysis and assessment of the territorial impact;
    • Behavioral aspects of social entrepreneurship;
    • Bio-economy;
    • Business and Corporate Ethics;
    • CSR and sustainability reporting;
    • Sustainable development and sustainable organization;
    • Protection of savings;
    • Measuring the impact on stock returns through cyber-risk forecast and VaR backtest;
    • International agricultural policies and instruments to protect farmers against price income volatility;
    • the Fintech revolution: portfolio optimization methods.

DISEI has signed numerous cultural and scientific collaboration agreements with other European Universities, as well as with American, Asian and Australian Universities.

The Integrated Business Faculty (IBF)

The Integrated Business Faculty (IBF) in Skopje, Macedonia is a HEI, founded in 2006 with the aim of providing quality education in Macedonia to undergraduate students in 4 main areas: Finance, Marketing, Accounting and Auditing and Economic theory.

Besides this main activity, IBF is involved in research activities and projects, on national and international level, and is constantly the best performer in the Erasmus+ exchange programme in Macedonia.

The IBF has a total of 11 professors and lecturers, and 6 administrative persons, while part-time staff is obtained per its requirements.

RRiF College for Financial Management

RRiF College for Financial Management in Zagreb, Croatia is a Higher Education Institution founded in 2006.

The main aim of the RRiF College of Financial Management is education in which it provides high standards of teaching with quality service.

RRiF College conducts:

– a three-year professional study Accounting and Finance and

-a two-year  specialist professional graduate study Corporate finance.

The study programmes of RRiF College are focused on educating professionals able to, immediately after the study, independently performs tasks in the fields of financial management, financial accounting and reporting, taxation and managerial accounting as well as the managerial activities on the level of the middle management or the higher management in corporations.

As such RRiF College is closely connected to the labour market and business and is focused at increasing the employability of its students through adapting its study programme to the concrete and applicable knowledge, which is evidently needed on the labour market. Through its curriculum aims to link higher professional education and economy for excellence. A vital part of the undergraduate study programme is an obligatory traineeship for the students.

Internationalization strategy is a very important part of Strategic Plan of RRiF College and one of its top priorities is the internationalization of academic and business relationship.

Vilniaus kolegija / University of Applied Sciences is the largest accredited higher professional education institution in Lithuania.

Vilniaus kolegija / UAS provides higher professional education in the sectors of Tourism, Business, Information Technologies, Electronics, Pedagogical Education, Economy, Health Care, Agriculture and Arts.

Vilniaus kolegija / UAS has 6 700 students, who study here under 49 study programmes in 7 faculties: Electronics and Informatics, Economics, Business Management, Health Care, Pedagogic, Arts and Creative Technologies and Agro-technologies. The duration of studies are 3 or 3,5 years. Apart from basic studies short-time refresher courses are offered.
